Sul Ross’ New Provost Announced

ALPINE- Nov 11, President Gallego announced Sul Ross State University’s new Provost, Dr. Bernardo Cantens, amidst Gallego’s recent resignation.

The withdrawal of Alberto Ruiz from the Provost Search left Cantens as the sole candidate in the search. Cantens had the opportunity to visit all four campuses and meet with faculty, staff, and students. Many of whom gave great reviews of his visit.

Cantens, the new chief of academic affairs at Sul Ross, will be on campus starting spring  semester 2021.
